Building a Brand New Home
of Your Own Should Be Exciting
To make building your new home stress free, know that we have a proven, reliable process and one of our experienced professionals will be by your side, from start to finish.

After you sign the Contract
There are three phases to complete once the contract is signed:
- Pre-construction phase - when you will choose colors, interior selections and any upgrades to personalize your home.
- Pre-construction meeting – review the plot plan of your new home, house placement and review plans and options such as flooring, cabinets and countertops. You will also meet your project manager at this meeting.
- Weekly update process – schedule weekly review meetings to follow the progress of your home.
- Pre-construction phase - when you will choose colors, interior selections and any upgrades to personalize your home.

Pre-construction Meeting
Now it’s time to begin construction on your new Crescent home. Key stages in the construction process include:
- Foundation stage – 2-5 weeks
- Framing stage – 2-3 weeks – We go beyond the standard in this stage by installing radiate barrier sheathing to help keep your house cooler during hot Lowcountry summers.
- Mechanicals stage – roofing, windows, doors, rough in electrical and HVAC system – 2-4 weeks
- Pre-drywall meeting – review work to date and plan for electrical outlets, phone and cable outlet, as well as verify placement of tub, shower and appliances

Pre-drywall Meeting
Now you’re about to see the walls go up and your new home take shape.
- Drywall stage – install insulation and have the work HERS Rating tested. Install exterior vinyl or fiber cement, decks railings and garage doors. 3-4 weeks
- Interior trim and paint stage – 2-3 weeks
- Details stage – install lighting fixtures, thermostats, plumbing fixtures and countertops. 3-4 weeks
- Touch-ups / Cleaning stage – test HVAC system, verify everything in your home works properly and take care of any touch-up work. 2-3 weeks
- QA Checks – Project manager and a third party quality inspector will review your entire home to ensure it meets or exceeds construction standards. Learn about your new home and receive your final HERS Rating.

Homeowner orientation meeting
During your homeowner orientation meeting, we will:
- Show you how the appliances, HVAC and any other mechanical features work.
- Review your landscaping and show you where water shut-off valves are located
- Review your home warranty

After your homeowner orientation
This step includes closing on your new home and a two-week walk process. The two week walk process is when we regroup after you have lived in your new home for about two weeks. We will ensure everything is working properly, show you how to file warranty claims and discuss regular home maintenance.

Review warranty
After living in your home for two weeks, you transition into the warranty phase of your home, which means any issues that may arise with your home from this point on will be handled as part of your warranty. A warranty representative will contact you and explain the steps required to file a warranty claim and the different warranty categories.
